Paul Kimatian, a writer and producer whose credits include the 2002
film "Deuces Wild," died Saturday of cancer in Los Angeles. He was
61.

Writer, producer and still photographer Paul Kimatian, died April 28
of cancer in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 61.
Kimatian's most recent work as a writer and producer was on MGM's
"Deuces Wild," starring Stephen Dorff and Brad Renfro. Kimatian also
wrote and produced "Wharf Rat" for Showtime in 1995 and served as
associate producer on "Never on Tuesday" and "Street Music."

Kimatian began his career as a still photographer, working on many of
Martin Scorsese's films including "Taxi Driver," "New York, New York"
and "American Boy: A Profile of Steven Prince." He was also a
production coordinator on "The Last Waltz" in 1978.

He is survived by his wife, Darcy Kimatian, a writer, and a daughter.
