Drama coach Zina Provendie died of complications from pneumonia in
Tarzana, Calif. on May 15. She was 91.
She was born in Norwich, Connecticut and came to the New York stage in
her early twenties.

Provendie was head drama coach at Metro Goldwyn Mayer from 1957 to 1966
and also appeared in more than 200 stage productions in the '30s and
'40s. She guest-starred in a number of TV series during the 1950s,
including "Studio 57," "Kraft Television Theater," "77 Sunset Strip,"
"The Real McCoys" and "Gunsmoke."

Provendie's students include Anthony Michael Hall, Chuck Norris,
Richard Chamberlain, Gina Lollobrigida, Stephanie Powers and Demi
Moore.

She is survived by a son, daughter-in-law and grandson.
