Vivian Liberto Cash Has Passed Away
Today brought more sadness to the Cash family. Roseanne Cash's and my
friend/Johnny's daughter.... Kathy Cash Tittle lost their mom.
Vivian Liberto Cash was Johnnys first wife.
Vivian passed away today about 4:30 PST in California.
Today was also Rosanne's 50th birthday.
Vivian had lung cancer. Two weeks ago she had a surgery to remove the
cancer and there were complications. Last night she showed so much
improvement that everyone thought she was going to pull through. She
just couldn't hang on though.
The family was all with Vivian when she passed away. This is very hard
for Kathy and Roseanne after loosing so many loved ones in the past two
years. First June then Johnny then a few weeks later their sister Rosey
passed away. Not too long ago they lost Merle Kilgore and now Vivian.
Please keep these dear people in your prayers as they are going through
yet another death of a loved one.

Distin died Tuesday at the Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura of
complications from surgery for lung cancer, said Danny Kahn, manager of
singer Rosanne Cash, the oldest of the couple's four daughters.
Distin met Cash at a skating rink in San Antonio three weeks before the
Air Force sent him to Germany in 1950. They stayed in touch, exchanging
more than 10,000 pages of letters that Distin was using for an
autobiography tentatively titled "I Walked the Line," said co-author
Ann Sharpsteen. The book is scheduled to be published next year.
"Vivian saw the women fans just swooning over Johnny when he toured
with Elvis. ... Periodically she would ask him, 'Honey, what do you
think about those women?' He always told her, 'You don't have a thing
to worry about. I always walk the line,'" Sharpsteen said.
The 13-year marriage ended in 1968. She married Dick Distin the same
year.
Cash captured the hardscrabble life of those on the margins in songs
such as "Folsom Prison Blues" and "One Piece at a Time." He died in
September 2003.
In addition to her husband and daughter Rosanne Cash, Distin is
survived by three other daughters, Kathleen, Cindy and Tara.
