Ted Bessell, the actor who played Marlo Thomas' boyfriend, Don, on the
TV series "That Girl" has died. Reports on his age differ, but he
appears to have been at least 61.

Odd thing was that Marlo Thomas was sort of dancing around the idea of
doing a reunion TV-movie next year. She also said she assumed that her
character had long since divorced Bessell's.

The thing I remember Bessell best for was that he once studied to be a Jesuit.

Oh, and no one's mentioned ME AND THE CHIMP. Shows you how old we're getting.

Actually, she was set to do a live reunion with the (surviving) cast and
crew next month at the annual Television Festival in L.A. (where they
screen some of the shows and take questions from the audience). In
fact, the Festival "That Girl" reunion will go on without Ted. I hear
Marlo's planning to turn it into something of a memorial to him...

An odd comment, considering the TV characters in question...

Well, he ws definitely Catholic. His services are being held at St.
Martin of Tours church in Brentwood.
