PYLE--Willis Acton,
Disney animator and artist, passed away on Thursday, June 2, at the age of 101 in his Broadway penthouse apartment. Born in Lebanon, KS in 1914, he attended the University of Colorado before joining the Disney Studios. Working with UPA, he helped develop the near-sighted Mr. Magoo, and shared the 1950 Academy Award for animation for Gerald McBoing- Boing. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia, his brother the actor Denver Pyle, and his sister Lorrayne. He is survived by his nephew David Pyle and David's family. Willis will be missed by all.
