Nothing at Google News yet, but a couple of photos at Google Images. I
didn't remember her but recognized her instantly. IMDb list her credits
back as far as 1951 on "Dragnet.
Her date of birth is listed as 1/6/07. She just missed 97.

Hope Summers (1896-1979) was the actress who portrayed Clara Edwards on "The
Andy Griffith Show". One of her last roles was in the Goldie Hawn movie "Foul
Play".
I don't believe Helen Kleeb ever appeared on "The Andy Griffith Show".

***Thank you, Ed, for giving me Hope Summers's name. As soon as I saw Helen
Kleeb's picture, I knew she wasn't Clara Edwards. FWIW, I saw Hope Summers
just this week on Rosemary's Baby--one of the movie channels has run it a
number of times these last few days (AMC, maybe?)

While it is certainly correct that Summers played Clara Edwards, Helen Kleeb
did appear on the program in 1962, but only one episode that I know of.
I can't seem to find confirmation on Ms. Kleeb's death, however.

About her being Clara Edwards, please write that off to 102+ fever
from severe Bronchitis and flu. It's been a bad, bad, bad, 5 days.
I knew she had been on the Andy Griffith Show, I just connected the
dots wrong .
Trust me when I say you do NOT want to mess around with feeling bad
this winter. If it feels like flu, get it checked out. Ignoring first
symptoms has cost me about 350 so far in meds and doctors visits.
If you get the flu that's going around, grab your calendar, cross off the next
3 weeks, and go back to bed.

Uh-oh...Dolores had another near-death experience. We're sure to get all
the details.
