Just heard a rumor at rec.arts.sf.written - but I can't find any proof of it, other than the premature notices at YouTube...years ago!

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Max Baer died Friday at age 74.

Jethro Clampett's portrayer Max Baer, Jr. lives...and presumably is still a public ingrate regarding the good-natured bumpkin vcharacter which made the actor (to a later generation or two) at least as famous as his celebrated boxing father.

So correct you are, Scott--he was Cousin Pearl's boy, and thus Jethro Bodine.

I assume Pearl was a Clampett before she married Jethro's pa. After all, it was Granny's side who brought the runts into the line.

It should be noted that Chief Justice Baer(born December 1947) was about
10 years junior to actor Baer Junior(born December 1937).
