Sandra Jean Righetti
July 6, 1935 - June 28, 2012
Resident of San Jose

Sandy passed away after a battle with cancer. Daughter of James Smith
and Lena Spangler of Texas. Born in Oakland, CA, raised by her parents
and her Aunt Helen and Uncle Harold Hayes of the famous Hayes mansion
and went to Lincoln High School in San Jose.

Married for 41 years to Leo Righetti [1], former minor-league ball
player for the San Francisco Seals, before he passed in 1998.

She is survived by her sons, Steven and David [2]. Steve's wife,
Sabrena, and their kids Scott, Stephanie and Shannon, as well as
David's wife, Kandice, and their kids Nicolette, Wesley and Natalee
[3] will all cherish their memories of the amazing woman they came to
love, admire and respect. Sandy is also survived by Armand Kunde,
husband to her sister, Joan, who passed in 2010. Sandy and Joan were
as close as sisters could be. There are many nephews and nieces who
were close to Sandy. They will all miss her dearly. The Kunde nieces
will fondly hold memories in their hearts of the trips taken with
their aunt and mother.

Sandy was a devoted baseball fan of the New York Yankees and the San
Francisco Giants. She enjoyed scrap-booking, collectables and reality
TV. She also enjoyed puzzles, romance novels and gardening. She leaves
behind some long-time neighbors, who she befriended over the 54 years
she resided in Willow Glen.

The family is holding a private service in honor of their beloved
family member.

In lieu of flowers, the Righetti families would appreciate any
donations be made to Jean Weingarten Peninsula Oral School for the
Deaf (JWPOSD), 3518 Jefferson Ave., Redwood City, CA 94062, a non-
profit organization that was close to Sandy's heart.

Thanks to Rod Nelson from SABR for the obituary and the additional
information about Natalee Righetti.
