(This moved after the regular roundup, which had deaths ranging from
age 39--a California TV anchorwoman who had breast cancer--to 98,
dean of the "immortals"--Academie Francaise members--Jean Guitton).
That's unfortunate.
The last celebrity I can remember who hanged himself with a bedsheet was
Ray Combs, the host of Family Feud. (And he did it at the hospital
while under suicide watch.)
Later versions of the story amend his age to 29,and he now appears in
the roundup.

Ray Combs did use a sheet in a hospital room. Michael Hutchence used his belt
on the back of his hotel door. Because of his partial state of undress, it is
speculated that the former INXS singer may have been involved in auto-erotic
asphyxiation. But he was in an arguement with the former husband of his lover,
Michael Geldof a few hours before his death, so you never can tell.
The bottom line is that we may never know what was going through the minds of
these people in their final hours. Someone like David Strickland seemed to
have it all. It's a tragedy that he didn't feel that way.
