Age 52, passed away December 21, 2007, from an apparent heart attack.
Rocco was born March 31, 1955, in Charlotte, MI, the son of Donald and
Charlene (Laverty) Moore. Rocco was an outstanding basketball and
football player at Charlotte High School, and went on to play
offensive lineman for Western Michigan University, where he was named
All Mid-American Conference. In 2005 Rocco was honored by being named
to the Western Michigan University All-Century team. He was drafted by
the Philadelphia Eagles in 1977 and in 1980 he wore #71 for the
Chicago Bears. After returning to Charlotte Rocco became a mortgage
broker, owning Big Roc Funding and Rocco Moore Mortgage Specialists.
Rocco leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa; sons, Colton and Sam, and
daughters Savhanna and Cheyenne; his adoring parents, Don and Charlene
Moore; his sisters, Connie Burgess, and Candy (Ron) Karr; and many
nieces and nephews. The Moore family will receive visitors Thursday
evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pray Funeral Home, and 1- 3 p.m.
Friday at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center. Friends and relatives
are invited to an Affirmation Service at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December
28, 2007, at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center, to celebrate the
gift of Rocco's life. A memorial trust fund has been set up at
National City Bank for the benefit of Rocco's children. Arrangements
