of Wasserstein Perella and Co, 1991-99, chairman of the British Steel
Corporation, 1983-96, and chairman of the Michael Sieff Foundation
from 1995, held 18 March, 2003, at St Margaret's Church, Westminster
Abbey.
Canon Robert Wright, Rector of St Margaret's and Chaplain to the
Speaker, officiated, assisted by the Rev Chris Chivers, Minor Canon,
and Precentor of Westminster, and Canon Michael Hereward-Rothwell,
Vicar of Thorpe.
Mr Daniel Sieff, stepson, read the lesson and the Hon Roger Haslam,
son, read from The Knight's Tale by Geoffrey Chaucer. Mr Jeffery
Rosen, Baroness O'Cathain and Sir John Parker paid tribute.
The Chamber Choir of Bolton School, directed by Mr John Davenport,
took part during the service.
The Deputy Lord Mayor of Westminster, represented the Lord Mayor, and
the Mayor of Bolton attended. Lord Strathclyde, Leader of the
Opposition in the House of Lords, was represented by Lord Brougham and
Vaux.
