Allan Arthur Montreuil, Sr. on Friday, January 18,
2008 at West Jefferson Medical Center.
Beloved husband of Carolyn Melito Montreuil for
44 years. Loving father of Allan Montreuil, Jr. and
Marc Allan Montreuil. Father-in-law of Melissa
Montreuil. Grandfather of Mallory Rose Montreuil,
Sara Ann Montreuil and Abby Lynn Montreuil.
Brother of Glenn Montreuil, Janet Rupp and Roy
Kipker.
Allan was born and raised in New Orleans and
lived in Terrytown for the last 40 years.
Allan graduated from De La Salle High School and
attended Loyola University before signing with the
Boston Red Sox Organization in 1962. After a 12
year career in professional baseball, he was a small
business owner and also became a Realtor before
retiring in 1999 due to health reasons.
During and after the difficult days of Hurricane
Katrina, he was a volunteer at West Jefferson
Medical Center. His efforts to boost morale were
greatly appreciated by the staff. Allan will be sadly
missed, but never forgotten by his family,
neighbors and golf buddies.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to
attend a Funeral Service at MOTHE FUNERAL
HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA
on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 1:00PM.
Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery,
Gretna, LA. Visitation at the funeral home on
Tuesday from 9:00AM until 1:00PM.
The Montreuil family would like to extend their
sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Staff of
West Jefferson Medical Center for their loving
care and dedication shown to Allan during his
time of illness.
