WWE Hall of Famer "Baron" Mikel Scicluna died today today in his '80s
after a battle with cancer. Scicluna retired to Pittsburgh, Pa. after
his career ended.
Scicluna was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996 after playing
a heel in Vince McMahon, Sr.'s WWWF promotion (now WWE) in the 1960s
and '70s.
Scicluna's most high-profile matches were against Bruno Sammartino in
Madison Square Garden during the mid-1970s when Sammartino was the top
draw and WWWF champion.
Coincidentally, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette profiled Sammartino in
today's newspaper focusing on Sammartino's career prior to receiving
the Dapper Dan Lifetime Achievement award this week.

I went to one wrestling match 1978ish and it was something to see.
Baron Mikel Scicluna was a huge man. He was fighting Pat Patterson and a
bunch of kids were in the ring getting autographs from Patterson. Baron
Mikel Scicluna came running into the ring and the kids scattered like
mice...funny as hell.
Later that night it got really wierd
Hulk Hogan was a bad guy and fighting Bob Backlund a good guy. Backlund had
Hogan on his back with his head on the lower rope. Hogan was looking at the
fans upside down.
A huge lady ran out of the stands, ran down to the ring and wiped Hogan's
face with a piece of cloth. She ran back to her seat and held up the piece
of cloth. It was a huge set of panties.
She ran down again and Hulk, still looking at the fans upside down spit a
big loogie on her.
