I have searched the web in vain and am returning to good old Usenet to
try to find some info on Ron (Captain Penny) Penfound. He was a
children's TV host in the late 50s-early 60s (WEWS-TV, I believe). I
am almost certain that his wife committed suicide in the early 60s
(jumped off a bridge in Cleveland).
Can anyone tel me if he's alive or dead (I'm pretty sure it's the
latter. Also, any info about his wife's death would be appreciated.
Captain Penny's tag-line was:
"You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the
people all of the time, but You Can't Fool Mom!!"
Thanks,

Ron Penfound died in the early 1970s in Florida. I believe the city was
Naples, Fla. I am not sure about the year but I know it was on or before
1976 and not earlier than 1974.

The cad. He stole it from Spanky MacFarland.
I had an autographed picture of Mr. Penfound, but it has somehow disappeared
from my collection. :^(
