She played Mayor Shinn's daughter in the movie of "The Music Man" and Billy Bigelow's daughter (dancing "Louise's Ballet") in the movie of "Carousel."
She was just four years younger than Shirley Jones, who starred in both movies (and played her mother in "Carousel").

Susan Luckey Dead: 'The Music Man' Actress Dies At Age 74
Posted: 12/05/2012 1:50 pm EST Updated: 12/05/2012 2:04 pm EST

Actress Susan Luckey has died at the age of 74, TMZ reports.

Her daughter, Shayna Reynolds, tells the website that her mother, best known for her role as Mayor Shin's daughter Zaneeta in the 1962 film “The Music Man," hadn't been suffering from any illness, but died on Nov. 29 from "just old age."

According to TMZ, Luckey, whose real last name was Douglas opted to have her body cremated and asked that her ashes be placed in a "decorative box" where other family members have been laid to rest.

Luckey was a triple threat as an actress, singer and dancer and spent the majority of her career working in theater, but it was her on screen-roles in "The Music Man" and "Carousel" for which she will likely be best remembered.

Well, okay. I'll say it. Her performance in "The Music Man" was
ghastly. Distracting, irritating, unfunny ... just absolutely
horrible. I freaking love that movie -- it may be my favorite filmed
version of a musical. In fact, it's so close to being a perfect movie
musical that the only way I can think to have improved it would be to
recast Zaneeta, or simply cut the character entirely.

No opinion on "Carousel," which I only watched because I actually had
a small part in a stage production of it, but I barely remember the
picture, much less her part in it.

Carousel was my least fav R and H adaptation and The Music Man is near and dear as I remember seeing it first at age 4. Her character was importent to the plot in Music Man.
