１１４歳で県内最高齢者の常陸太田市大中町、白石チヨ（しらいし・ちよ）さんが１９日、老衰のため死去した。葬儀は２２日午前１１時から同市折橋町６
２３０の里美斎場で。喪主は孫克彦さん。
県長寿福祉課などによると、白石さんは、１８９５（明治２８）年、福島県塙町で７人きょうだいの６番目として生まれた。１８歳で結婚。現在、３人の子
どもと、８人の孫がいる。
長女（９３）と２人暮らしで、親族によると、６年ほど前から普段はベッドの上で過ごしていた。しかし、お客が来ると、着物に着替えて出迎えるなど、老
いてもたたずまいに気を使っていたという。
今年の夏ごろから体調を崩し、なかなかベッドから離れられない生活が続いていた。
白石さんの死去に伴い、県内最高齢者は龍ケ崎市の高岡
