Allow me to explain...
First of all, I have nothing against Mr. Carson (although I did have to
think for a minute or two to figure out to whom you were referring -
initially, I though you were referencing the late host of the Tonight Show
- not sure why...). We have (David & I) have tangled a few times in the
past, since we seem to be on opposite sides of the political spectrum. But
I attribute most of his failings due to his being in/from Texas - a place
that fatally mars one's chances for any kind of intellectual acuity. I
don't blame him for that - the luck of where one happens to have been
conceived/born/raised is generally out of one's control.
Now, regarding the above quoted line. That line was from a "sig" file,
which was randomly selected and attached to my post as part of the posting
process. I have a collection of cute (well, I think so anyway) little
blobs of text, and one is randomly selected and appended each time I post.
You should think of the sigs as independent of and not really related to
the main text. Sort of an extra little freebie.
As to the particular line, you need to be aware that there is a well-known
fruitcake that posts as "Thomas Lahn" in various Unix/Shell "help me"
groups, such as "comp.lang.shell" and others. I believe he is German and
he posts in fractured English (Don't get me wrong - I'm sure his English is
worlds better than my German) and the above line came from one of his
postings. It caught my attention as being particularly amusing/fruity, so
I put it in my sigs collection.
Note that you will see below this text another randomly generated quote...
