Aristotle "Telis" Mitchel. Passed away peacefully at age 87 on July 7,
2005 in Placentia, CA.

Born on January 9, 1918 in Maripol, Russia, Aristotle spent his youth
in Thessaloniki, Greece where he served with distinction in the Greek
Army, and earned a degree in horticulture.

He was active in the Anatolia Alumni Association where he met his
wife, Eleni Haika whom he married in 1949. Continued his education
with a Fulbright scholarship to Michigan State College. After earning
his Master's degree, returned to Greece for a short time, later
emigrating to the United States in 1953 with his wife and young
daughter.

After eight winters in Detroit moved to Southern California where he
established himself as a landscape designer and manager for Rosedale's
Nursery. Opened Country Hills Nursery and Landscape Design in Rowland
Heights in 1977 attracting many loyal customers whose homes he graced
with artistic landscape designs and plantings.

An active member of St. Nektarios Church, he served on the Board of
Directors for 12 years. Active in many Greek- American groups:
Hellenic University Club Past President, of the Save Cyprus Council
Board Member, American Hellenic Club Founding Member.

A gentleman known by his many friends for his humor, charm and
intelligence. Loved and dearly missed by wife Eleni Mitchel of
Placentia, daughters Lydia Missaelides of Sacramento, Daphne Smith of
La Mirada and Melina Michaels of Placentia. Grandchildren Alyssa,
Alex, Andrea, Phillip, Chase and Christian will miss their Pappou and
his stories very much.

Funeral Service July 12, 10:30 AM at St. Nektarious Church in Covina.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Farm
School, Anatolia College, or Saint Nektarios Church.
