Gordon W. Keller Piano Store Owner

Gordon W. Keller, 82, who owned Gordon Keller Music, a retail piano and
music store with seven locations in Maryland and Northern Virginia, died
Oct. 25 [2009] at his home in Alexandria of congestive heart failure. He had
lived in Alexandria since 1950.

Mr. Keller opened his first store in Alexandria in 1954. By the mid-1970s,
he had opened six other locations selling pianos, organs and other
instruments.

He also provided rentals and lent and tuned pianos for concert pianists who
performed at the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap and Ford's Theatre.

He sold his business in 2004 and retired in 2009.

Gordon William Keller was born in Carlisle, Pa. He served in the Army in
Japan after World War II and received a trade degree in 1948 from the
Rockwell School of Tuning in Clearfield, Pa. He moved to the Washington
region and worked as a piano tuner and technician for Campbell Music in
Washington until 1954.

He was a past chairman of the Alexandria Salvation Army advisory board.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Alice Sweet Keller, and their
two children, Daron R. Keller and the Rev. Holly Keller Davis, all of
Alexandria; a sister; and five grandchildren.
