Jimmy McCulloch, who achieved prominence as lead guitarist with former
Beatle Paul McCartney's Wings group from 1974 to 1978, was found dead
in his London home Thursday. He was 26 years old.
Reporting the death, Dave Jarrett, spokesman for the WEA Record
Company with which McCulloch was connected, said the British guitarist
had been playing with the Dukes group, and was last seen by group
members on Monday.
After he failed to turn up for rehearsals, his brother went to the
house and found the body, Jarrett said.
The cause of death was not immediately known and police said an
autopsy was scheduled.
In his stint with Wings, McCulloch played and sang backing vocals on
four albums that sold in the millions -- "Venus and Mars," "At The
Speed of Sound," "London Town" and the triple album "Wings Over
America."

...the irony of which was that his anti-drug rocker "Medicine Jar" was
one of the highlights of Wings' VENUS AND MARS album...
