Obituary For Douglas Pary Pariseau

Douglas Pary Pariseau was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 19th, 1966 to Pary and Margaret Pariseau, joining older sister Christine (Kevin). He was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism, confirmed in the Christian faith, and fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus. He was united in marriage to Stephanie Baesler on June 20, 1992 and embraced by in-laws, Harold and Judy Baesler. Doug and Stephanie were blessed with 30 years together and two children, Quinn (Mina) Pariseau and Tessa (Josef) Muench, along with grandchildren Ambrose and James.

Doug’s family moved from Minnesota to Vancouver, WA when he was in the 7th grade. He attended Hudson Bay High School where his love of basketball began. Doug continued to play at the collegiate level at Concordia College in Portland where he earned his MBA and met his future wife. After college, he moved to Arizona where he was hired as a manager at Hancock Fabrics. This led to a position in Kirkland, WA for 10 years before he taught himself web design and began working from home to spend more time with his young children. In 2010, Doug began working at REI where he met friends that became family.

Gifted with a kind and generous spirit, he left a special mark on the many people who witnessed his joyful love of Christ in family, church, work, and music communities. Doug ran at least one marathon a year for 12 years, had a nine-year daily running streak, and even ran from Issaquah to Portland. He was intensely passionate and knowledgeable about music, collecting guitars, CDs, and records, encouraging many to learn new instruments, and hosting the neighborhood Bonney Lake Music Festival.

Over his 18-month journey with brain cancer, he lived life to the fullest, spending time with his family, celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary with Stephanie in Hawaii, and fulfilling a lifetime dream of visiting Nashville.

On the evening of June 12th, 2023, God blessed Doug with a holy death, surrounded by his family, and took him home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.

A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Federal Way, WA on Wednesday, June 21 at 1 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Doug may be made to The Dream Foundation, Concordia Christian Academy, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
