Actress Hathaway sings at grandmother's funeral

With the death notice from last week posted below. The link to the
death notice has a photo of Mrs. Gouin.

Interesting that the death notice requests donations to the Hathaway
Family Scholarship Fund, which benefits the high school I graduated
from. And that she was buried in the same cemetary my paternal
grandparents are buried in.

I was actually a student at that high school the year Anne was born -
although I try to forget how much older I am whenever I look at
her...

Inqlings: Actress Hathaway here to mourn

Actress Anne Hathaway, accompanied by a harpist, sang "Ave Maria" at
the Funeral Mass of her paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Ann Gouin, on
Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in the city's Andorra
section.

Her grandmother, who died Aug. 21 at age 86, lived at Cathedral
Village.

Hathaway's father, Jerry, is one of five children. The actress'
mother, Kate McCauley, also grew up in the area and went to Mount St.
Joseph Academy and acted in the troupe at La Salle. Anne Hathaway was
born in New York and raised in North Jersey, and still pops up in Cape
May. Last summer, out with friends, she sang karaoke at Martini Beach.

McCauley), and Evelyn Zilch (Mark); sister-in-law of Liliane J. Ramel;
daughter of the late Pauline Hughes (Turpin) and Joseph Hughes. Also
survived by 16 grandchildren, 10 great grand-children. Relatives and
friends are invited to Visitation Wednesday, 10 A.M., followed by
Funeral Mass 11 A.M., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819
Cathedral Rd., Phila. PA 19128. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, donations in her memory to Hathaway Family Scholarship
Fund, LaSalle College H.S., 8605 Cheltenham Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038.
