and Harold Lloyd's archivist, responsible for rounding up Mr. Lloyd's films
and getting them in some semblance of order.

Variety has a vocabulary all its own.

While we are on co-stars from Leave it to Beaver, I saw a PBS weight loss
film by Stephen Talbot that was quite well done (investigating the various
fad diets, including the popular South Beach and Adkins). Interesting to
see him after all these decades.

Yeah, film buffs owe a real debt to Rich Correll's efforts with the Lloyd
films.

...many of the stories on "Leave it to Beaver" were retreads of stories
from the 1943-1955 radio sitcom version of "Amos 'n Andy" written by Bob
Mosher and Joe Connelly. Of course, it was Charles Correll Sr. who
co-starred in and co-created "Amos 'n Andy"...

Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher, who produced Leave It to Beaver, earlier
produced the TV version of Amos 'n' Andy. Now I see that Charles
Correll's son was on Leave It to Beaver. It's a small world after all.

No, but if he had written it out in full, it wouldn't have sounded so hip,
and half the readers would have been scratching their heads in wonderment
about why a male person would be described as someone whose sexual
preference is ladies.

I think the old comedian Eddie Lawrence ...."So take a walk in the sun,
you'll show them, you'll never give up..!" used to abbreviate thespian to
'thesper'.
His LPs were hilarious, like the Actor's Lament, in which a 'producer'
wants to meet the actor at a Mayflower donut shop, and the poor actor is so
desperate he takes along his 8x10 glossies anyway.... and then the poor
schlump gets cancelled out of a *Benefit*! and he's late for an audition
and can't find his left contact lens! and more tragedies of the
tragedians.
