PARIS (AP) - French photographer Jean-Louis Sieff, best known for highly
sensual fashion shots in black and white, has died in Paris, hospital officials
said Thursday. Sieff was 66.

The photographer died Wednesday afternoon at the Laennec Hospital, the hospital
said. It did not disclose the cause of death.

Sieff was born on Nov. 30, 1933 to Polish immigrants. A graduate of the
National Photo-Cinema School in Paris, he went on to become famous for his
black and white nudes.

He worked for the Magnum photo agency, Elle Magazine, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar,
Photo Revue and Paris-Match.

There was no information concerning survivors. Funeral arrangements were
pending.

Just a wee-tiny point, but wasn't he called Jeanloup Sieff? Or did he use
both names?
I have a large print of his staring me in the face across the room, and
it's headed with the name 'Jeanloup Sieff'.
