LAKE WORTH, Fla. (AP) -- Sidney Klein, the father of
singer-songwriter Carole King, died Tuesday in Lake Worth, Fla. He was
82.
Klein, a retired New York City fire lieutenant, helped establish
in the 1940s the Lake Waubeeka community in Danbury, a summer residence

Carol.. I new your dad when I was just a young boy growing up Brooklyn. My father Nat Wollman and your dad were friends. I believe your Dad also sold insurance. Such a small world . My dad and yours since passed but I remember going to your dads house with my dad as a very young child. Just wanted to share this with you.
Sincerely & respectfully,
Paul Wollman

This must be a record of some sort. Carol King's father, Sidney Klein,
died in 1998, when the original notice was posted.

That one caught me too. I opened the article without looking at the
date of the post and saw he died at the age of 82, and knowing that
Carole King had to be about 70 (she turned 70 earlier this year), the
math just didn't add up on the ages between the father and daughter,
and then I glanced at the date and realized the post was 14 years old.

I was just sitting with a group of friends. They had Carol Kung music playing, and I mentioned to them that used to speak with her father, Sidney Klein. I was a stockbroker at the time and would discuss stocks. He was a real cool guy. Carol King... a national treasure.
