Hmmm... Stars and lost children... Eric Clapton lost his 5-year-old son
(in a fall) a few years back. Carroll O'Connor lost his son to a drug
overdose as well, not long ago. Dean Martin's son flew his plane into a
mountain (and Dino seemed to go straight downhill from there.) Art
Linkletter lost his daughter to drugs some time ago...

I'm sure there are more.

And god knows how many thousands of non-stars have lost their children
to drugs (including alcohol et al). My guess is that, if anything, the
ratio is lower for "stars".

Yes, his name was Scott. Two other celebrities who lost children were Mary
Tyler Moore and Judy Collins.

Talking only drugs here,right?
Else Ennis Cosby would be relevant.

Yep he did. So did Art Linkletter's daughter jumped out a window, Jerry
VanDyke's daughter hung herself, Johnny Carson's son died in a jeep wreck,
Roy Roger's daughter died in a bus wreck, Loretta Lynn's son drowned (I
think).

Damn, if she had only waited 9 days, she'd still be with us.

And Tim Buckley's son Jeff drowned. But then again, he was famous himself.

>From what I have heard, Diane Linkletter's death was not a spontaneous
drug related accident as her father told the whole world, but a
deliberate long planned suicide. He did not come out looking very good
in the real story, so therefore made it seem like it was a spur of the
moment thing

I thought Clapton's boy was three.

Anne Rice (the "Vampire" books author) lost a son, I believe. Anyone
know the age and circumstances?

Anne Rice lost a daughter to leukemia. Her name was Michelle, she was very young
when she died...four or six years old. I believe it was in the late 70's.
