I believe he died YEARS ago - of lung cancer if I'm not mistaken. I'm
thinking it was the late 60's or early 70's.

Why do people persist in posting incorrect answers to queries? If you
don't know what you're talking about, wait for someone who does to
educate you.
Ed Ames is very much alive, and will be 70 this year.

AN IDEA: For those who incorrectly posted Ames's death...Let's have
Ed re-create that classic scene from the Carson show...with the
hatchet. The incorrect poster would be happy to play the part of the
target! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Definitely alive. I know because he's coming to the Oakland Paramount
this month.

Then why don't you teach us all?
If my memory failed me, which is possible, then fine, it failed me. If
it failed me as I guess now that it did, I do _NOT_ mind being told I'm
wrong, HOWEVER, I do mind being told in _THAT_ way!
Do you really think it necessary for you to be as crass (in your own
little special way) as that young person that was in here a couple of
weeks ago posting all those 'false' death reports? Did it make you feel
BIG saying it that way?
Gee, we had Dr. Death, NOW we have the one and only Mr. Death and he
lives right here in alt.obituaries!
I guess what I'm saying is LIGHTEN UP DUDE!

No, Ed's still alive, and he's still performing.

Upon rereading my post, I see that I did sound condescending, and I
apologize. I didn't mean to belittle you. It's just that I (and alot of
others who frequent this newsgroup) come here primarily for information,
and it gets awfully tiresome reading post after post from people who are
simply guessing. Forgive me for copping a holier-than-thou attitude. I'm
just a schmuck with a dead pool, after all.
