I'm utterly embarrassed to report that this onetime professional Dylanologist is totally unfamiliar with the late Diaz. Any details on his work with Mr. Inscrutable--at least the year(s), but ideally also on which tracks (released or un) and which studios they worked together in--will be much valued by a guy who admittedly never grew up, at least when it comes to rock.

Thanks in advance for your detailed knowledge!

Just a reminder Diaz became on-topic in 2002!

In 1986, G.E. Smith, who'd just joined Bob Dylan's band, brought Cesar
on board to tend to the two guitarists' gear and tone. That began
Cesar's six-year association with Dylan. After G.E. left the band, Cesar
stepped into the guitarist's slot, playing some 50 dates with Dylan.
Cesar also played with Dylan when he won his Lifetime Achievement Grammy
in 1991. He left Dylan in to devote more time to his family and
amplifier business.

Sooooo...Diaz was on some of the early dates of the ongoing--ever since Tuesday, June 7, 1988* in The San Francisco Bay Area--Dylan-entitled Neverending Tour, eh?

Thanks MUcHO for the detailed data, and I'm of course sorry your apparent pal died before his time.
