Tonight's SEINFELD (26 Sept.) ended with a still photo of a young man
and the message "In memory of our friend - Victor Wayne Harris". An
IMDB search turned up nothing -- anyone know who he was, and his
connection to the show?

Victor Wayne Harris was a shoe salesman whom Seinfeld befriended while
in San Francisco circa 1991. Eventually, he became the "shoe consultant"
for the show, and could often be found on the set, touching up the
polish on any of the stars' footwear. He apparently developed an
infection, ironically enough, from a torn cuticle which was in constant
contact with shoe polish toxins, and sadly, the infection went
unchecked. Last July, a forearm (don't know which) was amputated, but
apparently, too late to save him. He died of complications resulting
from the infection on Aug. 29th, in New York City.

I hate to say it, but that almost sounds like one of the oddball plots
on "Seinfeld"... remember the envelope-licking demise of George's
fiance?
