WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Jennifer Lyn Jackson-Thompson, a Playboy centerfold in
1989, was found dead Friday at her home.

Westlake Lt. Larry Stephens said the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office wold
determine her cause of death, but noted there were no obvious signs of foul
play. Police said because the 40-year-old woman had a history of drug abuse,
toxicology tests would be performed.

"Her husband called us and officers found her in her trailer in Schneider's
Trailer Park on Center Ridge Road," said Stephens. "When someone drops dead
at 40, it's unusual."

In late July 2007, she was cited for disorderly conduct while intoxicated
after she and her husband caused a disturbance at their home. Police also
arrested her husband, James Thompson.

Jackson was Playboy's April 1989 Playmate of the Month.

In 2005, she was charged with receiving stolen property by Westlake police,
but that case was dropped in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court when the
victim failed to appear in court, court records said.

This model was known professionally as Jennifer Lyn Jackson, to avoid
confusion with the Playmate of the Month for March 1965, Jennifer Jackson.

I remember that issue well -- I was an undergraduate at Syracuse in
1989, and that was the "Women of the Big East" issue. One of the five
Syracuse coeds who posed nude sat directly across from me that
semester in a seminar.

One of the guys I worked with was dating Kathy St. George. He kept
telling me she had a friend and was going to set me up. I've always
wondered who the friend was.

There was a reporter for a radio affiliate who'd posed for a spread
called The Women of Radio. That spread didn't work out, not then, so
they used her in The Women of Mensa instead. She worked for a major
market and I'd been dealing with her on the phone for months, and all
of a sudden there are these pictures. It's awkward.

Then again, I'd see Megan Marshack almost every day at work. Nice
lady; I liked her.
