Kottayam, Apr 27: Malayalam film actress and dubbing artist Kottayam
Santha was found dead in her house at Olassa in the district today.
A case was registered for unnatural death and her body would be handed
over to relatives after post-mortem, police said.
She was 67. She is survived by a daughter.
Starting her acting career in Ponkunnam Varkey's theatre group, she
acted in more than 300 films and rendered voice to more than 1000
films. She had dubbed for actress Seema and Lakshmi. The sixties and
seventies were her golden era in the celluloid.
Her last film was Palunku, directed by Blessy last year.
She had also acted in several TV serials.
Kottayam Santha entered the cinema field through M Krishnan Nair's
film Aniyathi.
She had acted in Chemmeen, Kallichellamma, Moodupadam, Doctor, Eetta
and several other popular films.
As a stage artist she had acted in 26 dramas.
Kottayam Santha was the founder and chief patron of Sthree Sakthi
Samajam, a women rights protection organisation.
