Gary Dubin, an actor who had roles on "The Partridge Family" and in the
movie "Jaws 2," died Oct. 8 of bone cancer, according to his sister. He
was 57.
Dubin was a seasoned child actor when he began appearing as Punky
Lazaar, a friend of Danny's, on the 1970s hit show "The Partridge
Family." His character recurred in a number of episodes from 1971 to
1974. Before "The Partridge Family," Dubin had made appearances on
television shows including "Family Affair," "Green Acres" and "Mod
Squad," with his credits dating back to 1966.
Among Dubin's notable early roles was a voice acting stint as the
pampered kitten Toulouse in Disney's 1970 animated film, "The
Aristocats." He would return to the big screen in 1978 in "Jaws 2,"
playing Eddie Marchand, a teenager who was one of the giant shark's victims.
Dubin continued to act throughout the ’90s and until just a few years
before his death. Among his later roles were appearances on "Beverly
Hills, 90210" and "The District."
Dubin was born May 5, 1959, in Los Angeles. He is survived by his wife,
Marietha.
