So sad to stumble across an online obit today -- while researching something totally unrelated -- of Karen Dille, singer/actress who played Betty Rizzo in the second national tour of the original Broadway production of "Grease," and who went on to play her on Broadway in the mid-'70s. She's also the Rizzo featured in that great commercial for the show they always played on Channel 11 back in the mid '70s and which you can enjoy on Youtube by typing "Grease commercial." That commercial's cast also feutures a still unknown Marilu Henner in a blonde wig (as Marty) and Candice Early (as Sandy). A belated goodbye and God bless to Ms. Dille.

Mrs. Betty Karren Dille DeDario, age 69 of Spring Hill, TN passed away at her residence, January 3, 2014. Graduate of Chesapeake High School in Ohio and attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. She was an actress, singer and dancer. She played Betty Rizzo in the original production of Grease on Broadway in New York City. Member of Actors Equity and SAG-AFTRA and also of the SAG Award Nominating Committee. In 1978 she toured as back up vocalist with Engelbert Humperdinck. Recently performed Cabaret acts in New York City. She was active locally in exercise classes where she was fondly known as "Broadway" & "Miss B". She loved her family dearly and will be sadly missed. Survived by: husband, Vincent DeDario; daughter, Lara (Rob) Harris; grandchildren, Bailey, Emily and Amanda Harris; brother, George (Jamie) Dille; sisters, Linda (John) Duncan & Becky Flowers; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted 5:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 3:00 -5:00 PM prior to the service.
