GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. Former film and soap opera actress Mary "Tudi"
Wiggins, who hosted a talk show on a Hudson Valley television station,
has died at age 70.

Wiggins died Wednesday at a hospital in Gouverneur, near her home in
Fowler in Saint Lawrence County. She had been ill from cancer.

Wiggins was born in British Columbia and began acting when she was ten.
After working in theater in Toronto as a teenager, she moved to
Broadway and performed in "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" and appeared
in several films, including "My Side of the Mountain."

She had roles in several T-V shows, and appeared in the daytime dramas
"All My Children," "Love of Life" and "Guiding Light."

Wiggins later produced, directed and hosted her own talk show on
W-T-Z-A T-V in Kingston.

After retiring from the entertainment industry in the 1980s she moved
to the Gouverneur area and worked as a caregiver with Health Services
of Northern New York and the Community Development Program.

Sorry to hear this. I wondered what happened to her. Odd, there is no
mention of relatives.

Former Soap Star, Game Player Tudi Wiggins Dies at 71

Former Love of Life actress Tudi Wiggins, who played for a week on
Match Game, died July 19 of cancer in Gouverneur, N.Y. She was 71.
Wiggins, a British Columbia native, was best known as Meg Dale---the
evil sister of Vanessa Dale Sterling (Audrey Peters) in the final six
years of the CBS soap (1974-80).
Beginning her acting career on the Canadian stage at the age of 10,
Wiggins moved onto Broadway in "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" and
appeared in several films.
National audiences first saw her in the Canadian answer to America's
Dark Shadows, the Gothic soap Strange Paradise, in 1969. She came to
American television in 1971 in the role of Karen Martin on CBS's The
Guiding Light.
After CBS dropped Love of Life, which had been around since 1952,
Wiggins moved to ABC as Sarah Kingsley on All My Children for two
years.
Her credits include a role as Mrs. Witherspoon in Red Skelton's holiday
special, Freddy the Freeloader's Christmas Dinner.
Wiggins joined the panel of Match Game '77 for the week of May 13-17,
1977. She was the only known Love of Life cast member to appear on the
CBS game.
After leaving soaps, Wiggins produced and hosted her own talk show on
WTZA in Kingston, N.Y.
After retiring from television in the late '80s, she moved to Governeur
and worked as a fundraiser and caregiver with Health Services of


Northern New York and the Community Development Program.
