LUGER RELEASED AFTER BEING QUESTIONED IN CONNECTION WITH "MISS
ELIZABETH" DEATH
by Bob Ryder Updated: 5/1/2003 1:35:51 PM
Sources tell 1Wrestling.com that Lex Luger (real name Larry Pfohl)
was released from custody this morning at approximately 11:30 am after being
questioned by Cobb County authorities in connection with the death of former
WWF/WCW star "Miss Elizabeth" (real name Elizabeth Hulette).
Sources have told us that Luger placed a 911 call this morning and
that Elizabeth was rushed to a local hospital where she passed away.
No cause of death has been made public and authorities have not made
any official comment on the case at this time.
Local authorities are continuing their investigation.

Pfohl arrested
by Dave Meltzer
Larry Pfohl (Lex Luger) was arrested this afternoon for violatoin of the
controlled substances act. He is not being held in connection with the death of
Elizabeth Heulette earlier today.
When police were checking Pfohl's town house earlier today, they found "various
substances" including what were believed to have been steroids.
WSB-TV in Atlanta also aired the mug shot of Pfohl from his arrest two weeks
ago on a domestic abuse charge when Heulette was found by police with a black
eye. At the time she had claimed she slipped and fell while playing with the
family dog.

They divorced sometime in 1995, IIRC.

I thought that was stated in error as well. After all, wrestiling *is* real,
regardless what others may say. ;-)~
John Stossel wasn't actually punched, he was however,bitch-slapped (twice)
by "Doctor Death - Steve Williams", a mountain of a man, after Stossel had
the audacity to ask Williams after a match if wrestling was real or fake, at
which point Williams said, you really wanna know if it is real, and hauled
off and slapped Stossel upside the head, and when Stossel immediately got
up, (bad move) Williams then slapped him again, only this time on the other
side of Stossel's bean.
Stossel suffered permanent hearing damage to both ears, somewhere around 30%
in both, give or take a few percentage points, and in turn sued Williams and
the wrestling organization he worked for. IIRC, Stossel was awarded around
$200,000 for damages sustained by Williams, and wasn't heard much from
again, at least in this area he wasn't.
Wrong doctor. It was "Doctor D," David Shults, who slapped Stossel.

Sorry, Wiz. You have "Dr. Death - Steve Williams" confused with
"Dr. D. - David Schultz", here; neither, of course, should be confused
with Steve "Stone Cold Steve Austin" Williams.

You are correct, it certainly was Shults (sp?). I dunno where I came up with
Steve Williams, other than I must have have had Stone Cold Steve Austin
(real name-Steve Williams) and beating up people in the same thought
process, which is not so unusual when you think about it, just ask his 'soon
to be' ex-wife.
Yep, H. Glazer straightened me out on that as well. At least I had the rest
of the story right, at least I think so. Didn't the "D" in "Doctor D", stand
for "Death", instead of "David"?
I need a nap.;-)~

Randy Poffo was married to Elizabeth Labetski from 1984 to 1993 according to

I gather that there was a separate period during which their
characters were married, and the McMahon writers didn't want
the real relationship complicating things.

About how there wasn't a WWE back in 1985...or 1992?
Here's one regarding their marriage that I have found as well:
http://www.wrestleview.com/info/faq/savage.shtml
Was he really married to Elizabeth?
Yes. Randy Poffo and Elizabeth Hewlett were married on December 30, 1984 in
Frankfort, KY. The "marriage" between the two at Summerslam 1991 was just a
gimmick to get people to buy the ppv. The couple divorced in 1992.
So basically, the were married at one point, and later divorced, that much
is fact.*lol*
Yep, I sure do. I recall reading somewhere that good 'ole George was
actually a college professor in RL, when he wasn't chewing up the turnbuckle
padding in the ring. he certainly played the part of a lunatic very well. He
would make a great politician.

Almost...George "The Animal" Steele (real name: William James "Jim"
Myers; DOB: 04/16/1937) taught and coached in the Madison school
district, Madison Heights, Michigan. He is also in the Michigan
Coaches Hall of Fame. Heathwatch: In November of 2002, he had his
colon removed, due to complications of Crohn's Disease.

Yeah, it was on a Saturday Night main event, or something. It was when
they pre-empted Saturday Night Live every few weeks for wrestling.
Jesse Ventura was commenting on it and when Steel stole Miss Elizabeth
he said "This is a matter for the authorities. This is going to be
settled by the highest court in the land. On Monday Steel will be
standing in front of Judge Wapner." It was one of the funniest things
I ever saw. Then over the closing credits it showed George Steele
carrying off Miss Elizabeth and the music being played was "Stand By
Your Man."

I met him at a trade show in Vegas about 4-5 years ago and a sweeter
man you cannot imagine. He is not that tall either. Maybe 5'5-5'6 at
most. The girl I was at the show with had a father who was a big
wrestling fan and she got the animal's autograph and told him that her
father had Hotchkins disease and he told her off the top of his head a
list of web sites to go to so that she could learn more about the
illness and how to better cope with what she was going through.
Loki
Thanks for the correction. I was unaware of his health condition, he has
made a couple cameo appearances in recent months on WWE, still chewing out
the stuffing of the turnbuckle pads, but that would have to have been before
November of last year. I thought he was pretty good in his portrayal of Tor
Johnson in the movie, "Ed Wood", He certainly had the acting skills, given
the many years he wrestled.
Yeah, I remember that, that was funny.

And finally something in that time slot was funny.

Jesus H. Christ the pissin' wiz is even unable to get his "facts"
straight on trivia.
This marks the second or third time this week someone had to
correct our pissin' wiz's ??facts??.
Just another reason I find this arsewipe so disgusting. He is not even
able to get his Oscar Meyer wittisms right.
And he continues to believe so many AO posters truly "love" him
and await his every post.
We surely do as he makes a great outhouse. Methinks that as a
youngster darrell, and his other brother darryl, spent too many
afternoons following the horses around at Churchill Downs.
Heck I am able to smell him up here in Ottawa and there is at least
3 pig farms between louisville and Ottawa.

Nothing as of yet, I believe they are waiting on the autopsy results. The
immediate cause of death was not that obvious. While police have ruled out
the possibility of foul play in this case, however, there have been some
recent run-ins with the law involving Lex Lugar and Miss Elizabeth, from DUI
to Domestic Violence incidents. Lugar was questioned earlier that morning
and released, only to be arrested later that day for illegal substances
found in the initial search of his home earlier. He posted a hefty bond and
was released.

And to accomadate that much smell coming in wouldn't you need a nose the
size of Jimmy Durante or maybe even larger?
I never knew a busy-body whose nose wasn't bigger than their brain. Guess I
need to set up some more filters to my killfile, the stink of envy coming
from Canada is starting to drift south once again. Without a doubt, JHall is
God's way of punishing any posters on AO who ever thought things could not
possibly get worse than me.
