Character Actor Phil Gordon 1916-2010

GULLEY Phil Gulley, Born May 5, 1916 passed on the morning of Tues.,
June 15, 2010 at the age of 94. Born in Meridian, Ms., the son of
Philomen & Zena Alexina Gulley. During WWII he served in the Navy and
the USO entertaining the troops. After the war, he pursued his career
as a Jazz musician in Chicago, New Orleans and several other venues
throughout the 40's and 50's. He then settled in Calif. to work in
movies and TV on a number of projects. His most memorable was as
dialog coach and character actor with "The Beverly Hillbillies",
"Petticoat Junction", "Green Acres" and worked closely on the Dragnet
series with Jack Webb. He also hosted a children's variety shows in
New Orleans and Mobile in the 60's. He also was a faithful member of
AA for 50 years. He returned in the late 70's to Mobile where he lived
out his life. He was preceded in death by his loyal wife of over 40
years, Jane Dupree Gulley, brother: Joseph J. Gulley and sister: Alice
Gulley Immler. He is survived by his three nieces: Florence A. (Rick)
Immler Miller, Frances R. (Gary) Immler Thomas and Margaret A. (Paul
C.) Immler Trotman, III. A man of God, he lived by serving his fellow
man in so many ways. Ephesians 6:7-Serve wholeheartedly, as if you
were serving the Lord, not men. There will be a graveside service and
interment on Sat. June 19, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Pine Crest Cemetery. A
memorial service will begin @ 12:00-12:30-PM on Sunday, June 20, 2010
at The Alano Clubhouse located at 908 McRae Ave, Mobile, Ala.

I think I replaced one of those on the drive assembly of a 1967 Olds
Toronado I used to own.

According to IMDB Phil Gulley/Gordon was born in 1922
