Lord Boardman
Princess Alice Duchess of Gloucester was represented by Captain Peter
Symington and Princess Alexandra by the Hon Sir Angus Ogilvy at a
service of thanksgiving for the life and work of Lord Boardman, Chief
Secretary to the Treasury, 1974 and Chairman of the National
Westminster Bank 1983-89, held 17 June, 2003, at St Margaret's Church,
Westminster Abbey.
Canon Robert Wright, Rector of St Margaret's Church and Chaplain to
the Speaker of the House of Commons, officiated, assisted by the Rev
Graeme Napier, Succentor of Westminster.
The Hon Nigel Boardman and the Hon Anthony Boardman, sons, and Mr
James Law, grandson, read the lessons. Sir John Lowther gave an
address.
The Last Post was sounded by Mr Mark Law. The NatWest Jazz Band, led
by Mr Stephen Davies, played at the end of the service.
