Heard this mentioned on the Mets' radio broadcast. Google News finds nothing
yet, but Google's web search finds a guest book that links back to a paid New
York Times obit...

Guy Lebow
LEBOW--Guy. Sportscaster, newsman, musician, author, producer and TV pioneer
died peacefully August 14, 2008 in Manhattan. He was 92. Recognized for his
lifelong, passionate commitment to human dignity, he was deeply involved in
community educational and recreational programs for children and adults in
the five boroughs and Newark. Devoted husband of Barbara, father of Stephen,
grandfather of Adam. Services Sunday August 17 at 11:30am at "the Riverside",
76th St. and Amsterdam Ave.

...sounds like WABC really wanted Bill Stern to come back from the dead
and had to settle for Lebow...
