On a personal note - I never met Hollander but overheard a
conversation in 1992 at the Saraha Hotel ballroom in Las Vegas where
the industry convened during the CES show in those years. The
conversation was between four or five female porn stars and it was
about Hollander's alleged habit of offering cocaine to the women.
Hollander was also interviewed during a PBS show on the life and death
of porn starlet Shauna Grant.

I think that's what he used to say instead of "Action!"
Was there anything "controversial" about him aside from the nature of the
industry he worked in?

...well, there _was_ the fact that he tried to heavily push his Shauna Grant
catalogue right after her suicide...of course, images of dead people having sex
kinda cast a pall over the proceedings, y'know...

Daevid, I presume that the film was shot before she was dead. 'cause if it was
shot afterwards, that would be, uh ... well, pretty kinky. And not exactly an
unheard of kink, either ;)

...well, smut fans of the time have argued (accurately from what I saw) that, while
Grant was alive during the filming, her performances certainly were not...
