Two people were killed in Perquimans County on Tuesday in
separate auto accidents. One was the daughter of the late disc
jockey, Wolfman Jack.
Edwin R. Perva Jr., 30, of Hertford was killed about 1 a.m.
when his 1991 Ford ran off the road and into a ditch before
striking a driveway culvert and going airborne for 46 feet, said
Highway Patrol Trooper K.L. Morgan. Perva appeared to have fallen
asleep at the wheel, according to Morgan's report. Perva was
traveling south on U.S. Route 17 just north of Winfall. There was
no evidence of speeding or alcohol, Morgan said. At 7 p.m., Joy
Rene Smith, 37, of Belvidere was killed when her 1986 Nissan
collided with another car at the intersection of Swamp Road and
Sandy Cross Road, Morgan said.
Smith was the daughter of famed disc jockey Robert "Wolfman
Jack" Smith, who died in Belvidere in 1995.

So sorry to hear this. I'm a bit behind times,as I'm just seeing this. I knew her father personally, Robert Weston Smith,Wolfman Jack, when I lived in NJ. We dated for awhile, I was 16 and he was 18. Super nice guy who I will never forget....we were young!
