Yes, Frid is still going strong, though he performs on stage only
occasionally now. According to Frid himself, he thought that his
success on "Dark Shadows" would propel him into the movies, but as it
turned out he was typecast as a horror film actor and didn't really
want to play those roles anymore. He was trained as a Shakespearean
actor and was, probably, a bit embarrassed to be known primarily as
vampire in a Gothic soap opera. He gradually became accustomed to his
niche in the world of horror, though, and his stage appearances, mostly
one-man shows, have sometimes been built around horror themes. His
primary film credits are in a couple of "Dark Shadows" movies, both of
them pretty awful.
The one DS actor whose death did deprive us of much pleasure was Thayer
David, famous on the show as Count Petofi who went searching the world
for his lost "hand of power." Just before he died David had signed to
play Nero Wolfe in a TV series then being developed. I don't know what
happened to that series, but David would have made a superb Wolfe.

Don Briscoe also portrayed the character of Tony Merritt (the second
Tony Merritt) on "Days of Our Lives" while also portraying the character
of (first Tom, and then his twin brother, Chris) Jennings on "Dark
Shadows", thus making him one of the first actors ever to play dual
roles on two different soap operas at the same time.

David also played the role of the promoter/announcer in the first
"Rocky" movie.

For the people here (me, for instance) who are completely lost at this
point, there's a pic on this page of Don Briscoe from his "Dark
Shadows" days:

And here's Thayer David (who would indeed have made a great Nero Wolfe):

I've always thought that Thayer David and Victor Buono could have passed
for brothers, with Buono being the gay brother and David being the
abusive brother. Much like I've always thought that Grayson Hall and
Agnes Moorehead could have passed for sisters, with Hall being the
sister who has already had the nervous breakdown, while Moorehead was
the one who was well on her way to having the same thing.
