Maud Lydie Linder (27 June 1924 – 25 October 2017) was a French journalist, film historian and documentary film director.
Life
Maud Linder was born in 1924 as the only daughter of silent film star Max Linder and his wife Hélène Peters. Her parents both committed suicide in October 1925.
At age 20, she saw one of her father's movies and decided to make his works accessible to the public again. In 1963, she compiled a film titled Laugh with Max Linder which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and also received the Étoile de Cristal. The film was a compilation of her father's last three films made in Hollywood. In 1983 Maud Linder made a documentary film titled The Man in the Silk Hat, about the life and career of her father. It was screened out of competition at the 1983 Cannes Film Festival. In 1992, Maud Linder published a book about Linder in France, Max Linder was my father and in 2008 she received the Prix Henri Langlois for her work to promote her father's legacy.
Linder also worked as a journalist and, in the 1950s and 1960s, as an assistant director, mostly for the filmmaker Jean-Paul Le Chanois.
Linder died on 25 October 2017 at the age of 93, in a parent suicide.

La réalisatrice Maud Linder, qui consacra sa vie à faire redécouvrir l'oeuvre de son père, l'acteur, scénariste et réalisateur Max Linder, est décédée mercredi à l'âge de 93 ans, a annoncé son entourage à l'AFP.
Au cours de sa carrière, elle réalisa deux films autour de cette grande figure du cinéma muet, qui fut le "maître" de Charlot, selon les propres dires de Charlie Chaplin: "En compagnie de Max Linder" en 1962, présenté au festival de Venise, puis "L'homme au chapeau de soie" en 1983, l'année du centenaire de Max Linder.
Ce long-métrage réunit trois films du comique ("Soyez ma femme" (1921), "Sept ans de Malheur" (1920) et "L'étroit mousquetaire" (1922)) et fut présenté à Cannes.
Ce n'est pourtant qu'à l'âge de vingt ans que Maud Linder découvrit pour la première fois à l'écran ce père, qui se suicida en 1925 quand elle n'avait que 16 mois, entraînant sa jeune épouse dans la mort.
Marquée par cette personnalité hors du commun, elle consacra une grande partie de sa vie, après un début de carrière dans la chanson, la publicité et le spectacle, à rendre hommage à ce roi du burlesque de l'écran du début du siècle.
L'oeuvre de Max Linder, d'inspiration vaudevillesque, compte au moins 200 films, dont à peine 90 ont survécu.

thread was that at age 93, it's pretty hard to judge something as suicide.

The Wiki appears to have been vandalized, or was the result of a misunderstanding of something that appeared in French. It has been fixed. The article in French linked to this thread says nothing about Maud Linder committing suicide, and I seriously doubt that she did so. The last line really reads:
