I am very sad to report that my friend Marjorie Campbell (March 14, 1932-October 28, 2022) passed away this morning at the age of 90. Dear Margie appeared in Laurel and Hardy's "Their First Mistake" as the adopted baby. Margie attended several Way Out West Tent meetings and banquets over the years with her dear family. Her last Sons appearance was at Laurel and Hardywood in 2014.
She was the sweetest person and was always upbeat and full of life. Marjorie also appeared in "Life Begins" and "Tess of the Storm Country" in1932 as a baby as well. She jokingly said she retired from show business after that as she was typecast.
Margie was such a dear and will be missed. Her passing now leaves only seven confirmed actors who appeared with Laurel and Hardy in their films. Rest in Peace dear lady.

Critic Vito Russo (1946-1990) wrote for a page or two about "Their First Mistake" in "The Celluloid Closet," which became the basis for the 1995 documentary.

More on that:

(this is very long, but the part about Russo - at the beginning - is very short)
