Anyone who pays attention to the news and who is older than 30 knows
precisely where Megan Marshak was when former Vice President Nelson
Rockefeller suffered the heart attack which would kill him within a
couple hours on Friday, January 26, 1979.

But whatever became of her? I realize she was extremely publicity-shy
(and for obvious reasons), but surely she hasn't dropped off the radar
screen as thoroughly as has, say, both "Brother Marcus" Darin and
Evelyn Wood, the subjects of my last postings herein (each of which
registered exactly zero responses to those two Where-Are-They-Now-If-
Indeed-They're-Anywhere-Breathing? queries...).

Getting too obscure even for this newsgroup,

I missed the Evelyn Wood query, but now that I see this one, I can
tell you that hers was one of the first obits I ever read here. That
would mean she died in 1995 or 1996.

But she lives on in... SNL reruns.

And old Cheech and Chong albums.

Now I'm really befuddled: which edition of "Saturday Night
Live" (host at least, and original air-date if possible) ever featured
a sketch parodying Evelyn Wood and her rip-off Reading Dynamics
regimen???

And which Cheech & Chong bit invoked her???

Even more confused than usual,

There was a "commercial" for the "Evelyn Woodhead sped reding corse"
on ... um ... ah, well, I forget which original album, but according
to

http://www.cheechandchong.com/anthology.html

and other sources it's been re-released on "Los Cochinos" and "Where
There's Smoke ..."

I barely remember the SNL bit, but I think it was more or less ripped
off of the Cheech and Chong track.

To answer the initial inquiry about Megan Marshak -- she eventually
had a career in broadcast journalism.
By 1998, she was a producer of a local morning newscasts for WCBS in
NYC. What she's done in the last 10 years,
however, is a mystery to me. I'm doubtful she's still at WCBS only
because they've had enormous turnover at
that station in the last couple of years.

Upon receiving news that Radioacti...@hotmail.com had made the remarks
below, and after consultations with my Joint Chiefs of Staff, being briefed
by members of my Cabinet and many telephone conversations with various World
Leaders, I have come to the following conclusions:

Oh she's still laying under something these days, but this time it's *real*
dirt.

Evelyn Wood died almost exactly 12 years ago, on August 26,1995.
