"was held"???
Man, that must have been an EARLY service as it's barely 8:00 AM here
on the west coast now....

I want mine early.

The grieving, if any, will end around 0700 when my friends tap that keg of
Geary's Pale Ale. And it will be on me.

Why waste the day?

IIRC his daughter died from scleroderma.

His son was the (you should pardon the expression) resident funny man
on the CBS morning show that had Rolland Smith and Mariette Hartley
(who everybody in the newsroom called "Zarabeth," but not to her face).
We'd just undergone a wave of budget cuts, in part to pay for the
morning show startup. Around the time the show premiered, the mailroom
delivered to each and every one of us a cartoony little flyer that
invited us to a Bob Saget taping on the second floor. They'd set up a
little comedy club and were going to tape Saget doing a bunch of
stand-up, which would be cut into short segments and run on the morning
show now and then. The last line of the flyer read "BE PREPARED TO
LAUGH!!!" Yeah, we were in the mood to go see Saget, all right. I
don't know who they got for the audience, since there wasn't any street
traffic where we were. Maybe they found some guys down by the docks.

Wonder if it's true they had a family act called "The Aristocrats"?

Something is askew here. In IMDb it says Bob Saget's parents were:
Parents are Hillary (1926-2001) and William Saget (1924-2007).

I think you've uncovered something here. I've found a 1991 death date
for William in several places, including here, which also mentions
Hillary's death in 2001:

http://www.series-80.net/us/index.php?page=acteur&id=148&idat=148

And this (presumably authoritative) bio posted by the speakers' bureau
that represents him appears to confirm that his parents were indeed,
uh, Bill and Hillary:

http://www.speakerbooking.com/biography-11584.html

HOWEVER:

In this 2006 Esquire interview, Bob Saget says that his father is still
alive at 88:

http://www.esquire.com/features/articles/2006/060828_mfe_January_06_Sage
t.html?par=msn_h%7Cesq%7Cemb%7C

In that piece, although Saget mentions all his dead relatives
(including all four of his siblings), he doesn't include his mother.
According to the paid obit, Dolly survives Ben.

Gee, this is fun.

IMDb & nndb both offer conflicting info on Saget's parents. I believe
this obit IS TRUE based on what I found on the two following sites --

Saget pic with parents: (scroll down to btm. right pic)

and this from Jan. 24, 07. Saget declines an invitation due to a
family sickness:

I think we've both found enough to confirm Ben as Bob's father. The
"William & Hillary" thing, though -- I wonder if that was supposed to
have been some sort of joke, with the Clintons as reference.

I think someone must have had some weird fun putting in bad info regarding
Bob Saget's parents. Thanks for looking it up. Just a guess, but looking
at his father's obit it sounds like his father may have been a Republican
(just a guess)... businessman, etc.

I did happen to see Bob Saget on Leno Friday night, January 26, 2007.

He most likely died seeing, for the first time, his son perform his comedy
act.
