Oh my lord, my heart stopped when I saw this subject line!Oh no...not
Leonard!...
Well ok, actually I have no recollection of this gentleman, but the
protocol in this group is to include a question mark after the name if
you're merely inquiring...

Comedian Leonard Barr, who billed himself as Dean Martin's uncle but who
was not actually related to the late singer, has been dead since the mid
to late 1980's.

Leonard Barr died on November 22, 1980. I remember him well -- an
extremely funny, scrawny deadpan comic. He did indeed bill himself as Dean
Martin's uncle, probably because much of his routine involved him telling
"drunk jokes" on himself.

Yes....as skeezy nightclub comic "Shady Tree".
Remember Leonard Barre very well. A funny, funny man, if apparently quite
wierd. I think he was in "Diamonds are Forever." Far as I know, he has
been dead for several years, perhaps a decade or more. I think he was in
his late 60's or early 70's when he gained national prominence via
Griffin, et cetera. in the late 60's. Funny man, great memories. I think
he once described Charlie Calas, another very funny guy, as a hockey stick
with hair. Go figure.
