I noticed that the IMDb claims that Carolyn Kearney, a late 50s/early
60s ingenue who appeared on "The Twilight Zone" and "Alfred Hitchcock
Presents," died on November 18. Can anyone confirm this with an actual
obit, or could it be another "Louise Fletcher" gaffe? I used to know
Kearney and her husband slightly; she was very sweet and I'm terribly
sorry to hear this if it's true.

I couldn't find anything, but you might want to write to the
person who wrote the mini-bio on the IMDB. He seemed to
know a lot of details about her life.

I searched for an obit after seeing her name at Imdb, & couldn't find
anything.

Hmmm, either she's way, way obscure or IMDB forgot to do any fact
checking again...

Well, I'm tempted to call, but "Hi. Haven't talked to you in seven
years. Are you dead?" is so awkward.

As to her obscurity, there's still time for Variety or the LA Times to
run an obit (perhaps after noting these posts, which is how it happens
sometimes, I think). But John Larch never got an obit in any US daily
paper, so who knows. In cases like these it probably comes down to how
aggressively or skillfully the family is in putting out a press release.

There was a brief obit for John Larch in Daily Variety on October 19, 2005.
There was a paid death notice in the L.A. Times on October 18, 2005.

If you check out the "final farewells" section of the message board on
the Monster Kid website, you will see postings by author Tom Weaver and
others giving details about Ms. Kearney's passing. If Tom Weaver says
it I believe it. He is a noted film historian and knew Ms. Kearney
personally. He is the guy who wrote her IMDB bio.

Aha, thanks for pointing me to that, Rusty. Tom Weaver is indeed an
accomplished historian and a reliable source. Following that lead,
there's also a posting by someone else who knew Carolyn at
twilightzonemuseum.com. Evidently there will be a recent interview
with her on the DVD release of the final season of "The Twilight Zone."

She appeared in the TZ episode "90 Years Without Slumbering", which
aired Dec.20, 1963. (She's the 5th actor who appeared in a "Twilight
Zone" ep to die recently)

I can also vouch for Tom Weaver's authenticity and accuracy.

She died in 2005, in Los Angeles and was survived by her husband (who has since died) and her son Charles. She was a quirky, energetic, compassionate woman who is very much missed.
