I think Ozzie Nelson died of lung cancer.

AFAIK, Ozzie Nelson died from Cancer.
Bill
This is going back a long time, but I remember that shortly before he
died he remarked on the irony that someone who never drank would die
from a bad liver. But if I recall correctly, it was liver cancer, not
cirrhosis.

According to Internet Movie Database, Ozzie Nelson died of cancer...
Yes.
I found this article below. I don't know how accurate of a source it is--Ed V
OZZIE NELSON
Oswald George Nelson was born on March 20, 1906, Jersey City, New Jersey. In
1967, the year after the Ozzie and Harriet show ended its 22 year run on radio
and television, Ozzie had a malignant tumor removed from his colon. In 1974,
Ozzie had a 12 hour operation in which another outbreak of cancer was removed.
In October 1974, although he never drank, he was diagnosed with terminal liver
cancer. Ozzie died June 3, 1975, at age 69.

I also found:
Ozzie Nelson:
The home of the Ozzie and Harriet Nelson family, at 1822 Camino Palmiero, was
the only house they ever owned, purchased in 1941 and their home for 40 years.
On June 3, 1975, at age 69, Ozzie died from liver cancer in his beloved home.
Ozzie Nelson died from cancer, however a person can develop cirrhosis of the
liver from other means besides drinking.

The Wiz.....
In Kaufman's case, it was this rare form of cancer which was in other parts of
his body also and spread to his lungs; it wasn't really lung cancer as we know
it. I remember in the Jim Carrey biopic he had those things on his neck and
when he went to the doctor to have them checked out, they found the tumors in
his lungs and other parts of his body. I always found it weird that when word
got out that he was dying, the media (especially the tabloid media, who lives
for these kinds of things) completely ignored it as they thought it was some
kind of prank. It was the case of the boy crying wolf one too many times, but
it was also inexplicable that a man who was 35 years of age IIRC who never
smoked was dying of cancerous tumors in his lungs.
Michael O'Connor - Modern Renaissance Man
"The probability of one person being right increases in a direct porportion to
the intensity with which others try to prove him wrong"
I don't know how true it is, but I was told many years ago, by a healthcare
professional, btw, that everyone has "cancer cells" in their body. The
majority of people go all their life and these cells are never "activated",
and there is a certain group of people whose "cancer cells" are triggered
for no known reason, and there is another group of people whose cell are
activated by specific means, i.e. smoking.
Again, I don't know the validity of the claim by that healthcare
professional, but if it is true, it would explain how people like Kaufman
who never smoked could by stricken by cancer.

Not only didn't he smoke, he was one of the biggest health nuts in
Hollywood.

Well that explains his acne problem, but I doubt it contributed to his
death.

The Wiz.....
I heard he used to eat cheesecloth by the rolls in order to clean out his
intestinal system and colon; the cheesecloth is not digested by the body and
passes out of the system, but wipes along the insides of the organs as it goes
and helps keep them clean. A lot of good it did Andy Kaufmann.
+ AFAIK, Ozzie Nelson died from Cancer.
I figured he bored himself to death.
