Police have confirmed a young glamour model who became the city's 21st
homicide victim of the year Saturday night died of a gunshot wound to
the head.
Lily Duong, 23, died when the Mercedes she was driving came under heavy
gunfire at Argyll Road and 76 Avenue.
Her boyfriend, accused killer Stephen Pillon, was grazed by a bullet
and another man sitting in the back-seat suffered a serious gunshot
wound to the throat.
Police are seeking an older model black van that pulled up alongside
the Mercedes and whose occupants fired the shots.
Pillon is charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and
possession of a weapon in the death of Kenyon Joseph Gardiner on May
15, 2005. Another man was also charged in the incident.
Police say Saturday's shooting was gang-related.
They say Duong, also known as Lily Tran, was not a gang member but was
associating with gang members when she was killed.
