I'm sorry to hear that she's not doing well. She and Steve were
always among my favorite entertainers.
I too am sorry to hear she's not doing well. I'm also sorry that a ?family
member? is giving out so much personal information on private matters in a
public forum that she (and Steve) might not have wanted to be disclosed at
this time.

The whole thing sounds like crap to me. Read it again.
Good, it's not just me.
Kinda got a cattlovvr ring to it, doesn't it?
Kris
I thought so too. Not even *my* relatives are that tacky. And that's
saying something.

Sounds like someone got their paws on the will and they ain't in it.
GO PATRIOTS
Mark
Yeah mine too.

Is anyone else thinking hoax?
Of course, last year's top hoax ended up coming true anyway.

Interestingly, no Edith Gormezano shows up in the 1930 US census,
which she'd have to if she were really 81 and not 78.

I think the poster knows something b/c I googled Eydie Gorme's health
and
a website called Gay Z..something mentioned it too.
But I think the poster has a grudge. Probably tried to contact Eydie
and
was rejected or something similar and she responded with the TMI
post.
I was lucky enough to see Steve and Eydie in concert about 6 years ago
and the show was fabulous. I wish her the best.

According to Norm's 12/18/09 column in the Las Vegas
Review-Journal...Old Vegas icons Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, in the
audience at Cirque du Soleil's "Viva Elvis" show at CityCenter's Aria on
Wednesday...which would have been December 16th.
Marcia
from the Las Vegas Review-Journal (December 18) :
SIGHTINGS
... Old Vegas icons Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, in the audience
at Cirque du Soleil's "Viva Elvis" show at CityCenter's Aria on
Wednesday. Also at the grand opening were Planet Hollywood's Robert
Earl, Palms owner Maloof, Elaine Wynn, Nevada Senate Minority Leader
Bill Raggio, R-Reno, Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki, former Nevada attorney
general and federal judge Brian Sandoval, and comedian David Brenner.

That's what you get for being a middle-aged woman.

** Newsday in New York wrote last month about Eydie Gormé’s health,
asking “IS STEVE AND EYDIE NO MORE?”:
http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/music/steve-lawrence-minus-eydie-gorme-set-for-westbury-1.1566665
** The Wikipedia bio for Eydie Gormé, UNDER “CHILDREN,” explains the
23-year-old son’s death in 1986, and how Frank Sinatra sent his plane
to Steve and Eydie in Atlanta so they could fly to meet their other
son in New York:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eydie_Gorm%C3%A9
In this bio, the most recent Wikipedia note that’s been added says:
“In November 2009 Steve Lawrence embarked on a musical tour without
Eydie, who stayed home for health reasons.”
** In this biography, http://www.filmreference.com/film/49/Eydie-Gorme.html,
it lists the Eydie Gormé birth date as August 16, 1932, but with a
question mark(?). And it adds “some sources say 1931" – if she’s
really 81, it would be closer to 1928.
** And on the Steve and Eydie website, http://www.steveandeydie.com/aneveningwithstevelawrence.html,
it lists upcoming “An Evening With Steve Lawrence” concert dates
(Steve alone) with this note:
DEAR FRIENDS,
THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING TO VISIT THE STEVE AND EYDIE WEBSITE.
WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE UPCOMING PERSONAL APPEARANCES SCHEDULE
FOR "AN EVENING WITH STEVE LAWRENCE".
MANY OF YOU HAVE ASKED WHY EYDIE GORME IS NOT APPEARING.
MS. GORME IS NO LONGER TOURING.
I saw Steve Lawrence by himself at the Orleans last year when he was one
of the people who took over George Carlin's dates. At the time, Eydie
had just had surgery on her knee. My beloved said that she is the type
of person who would no longer perform when she wasn't at her best, so
who knows what the real story is.
